My Story & Methods

Since 2005, I have worked as a writing, executive function, and college admissions essay coach. I empower students of all learning styles, including high-achieving teens, STEM students, creatives, and those with ADHD or Twice Exceptional (2e) profiles. My work with students enables and inspires them to develop their intellectual and creative potential while achieving their academic goals.

I use a wide variety of tools to enhance my students’ academic toolkits, including effective organizational systems, rapport building, critical-thinking strategies, and neuroscience-backed mindfulness practices.

I have worked with a diverse range of students from across the Bay Area, including those from Berkeley High, Oakland Tech, Piedmont High, and premier private schools such as The College Preparatory School, Head-Royce, and Lick-Wilmerding.

When I’m not working, I enjoy hiking with my keen border collie, surfing somewhere along our amazing coastline, exploring art shows, live music, and international travel. In the past, I played guitar in a few independent bands and was a visual artist. I have the utmost respect for all forms of creativity and artistic expression.

College Admission Essays ~ Don’t Just Apply ~ Stand out from the Pack

The college essay is your chance to turn admissions readers into your greatest advocates. For many students, the pressure to be "perfect" can be paralyzing. I help juniors and seniors cut through the noise, offering the technical expertise and emotional support necessary to write essays that are both self-aware and unforgettable. Strategizing is crucial when applying to college. I take a holistic approach with each student, guiding them to craft coherent narratives that connect with each college admissions reader.

Today, my former students are thriving at a wide array of top-tier colleges, including Yale, Brown, Carnegie Mellon, Emory, UCLA, UC Berkeley, USC, Pomona, and Lewis and Clark As a college admission essay specialist, I find immense fulfillment in guiding students as they secure admission to their first-choice colleges.
